Garfield Dixon, known as Major Mackerel, broke through in Jamaica's late-1980s digital dancehall era with hits including "Cow Cod" and "Miss Getty Getty." His distinctive high-pitched, screeching delivery made him one of that era's most recognisable voices on record and sound system.

Junior Cat cut his teeth on the Killamanjaro sound system in the late 1980s, recording his first hit, "Anorexal Body," for producer King Jammy. He went on to score dancehall favourites such as "Iron Gloves" and "Top Dog," later heard in the Jamaican film Shottas.

Kevin Anthony Jackson, known as Sanchez, became one of Jamaica's leading lovers rock voices after his 1987 debut single "Lady in Red." Follow-up hits such as "Loneliness" carried his silky vocal style across more than two decades of reggae recordings.

Michael Taylor, known as Mikey General, voiced early dubplates for Kingston and UK sound systems including Killamanjaro and Saxon. In the 1990s he became a mainstay of Philip "Fatis" Burrell's Xterminator camp alongside Luciano, touring internationally as part of the Firehouse Crew.

Stewart Farquharson, recording as Sammy Dread, began his career in Greenwich Town, Kingston in the late 1970s, cutting his debut for producer Don "Jah Bible" Mais. Over four decades he has recorded for Channel One and Jah Life, working alongside artists such as Sugar Minott.

A nephew of veteran singer-songwriter Bob Andy, Singer J grew up in the Waterhouse area of Kingston and made his recording debut in 1991. He became a household name in Jamaica with the 2001 hit "Buss Your Gun," followed by "Can't Stop Me Now" in 2016.
